meeting santa.

yesterday was a great day for you and for me, emme kay.  we got up early and managed to both get bathed and dressed and out of the house by 9!  it was an amazing feat.  we headed to lakeline mall to meet up with alison and cameron so you and cam could get your pictures taken with santa.  we were first in line and we had y'all dressed up super cute in your christmas garb.  i never thought i would be the mom who got all themed out for holidays, but i am loving how cute you are in holiday ware.  the outfit you wore to meet santa was a super sweet gift from ms. sissy, one of kk's friends.  it looked like it would be fine, but apparently you are growing faster than i realized because this outfit was definitely too small!  i couldn't button the little sleeves or the top button in the back, and the bonnet didn't quite fit fully over your dome, but i think you were quite precious nonetheless.
this is a picture of a picture, taken with my phone...i didn't spring the extra $$ for the digital file....
this is you in your carseat in the stroller, getting ready to meet santa.  you sleep SO hard anytime you are near that carseat.  it's awesome.
you and cameron in your strollers, post photo shoot.  y'all were both so well-behaved - santa was impressed.
you and me.  i don't love to be photographed, but i'll handle it if you're in the shot with me....

anyway....after that, we strolled you two around the mall and ended up having a nice lunch at a restaurant in the mall.  it was a really nice outing for me, and i think you enjoyed yourself (or at least you got some really quality naps in).  in the afternoon, we stopped by my office to show you off to a few people.  we didn't get a chance to meet everyone, but the people that did see you thought you were pretty sweet.  you got lots of compliments on your leg warmers (i changed you out of the christmas outfit because it seemed a little too snug to wear for the whole day) and your monkey toes and, of course, your hair.  i didn't let anyone hold you because you were sound asleep and there are a couple of sickness things going around, so we didn't want to risk it.

last night, you were insatiably hungry.  daddy fed you a 3.5 oz bottle and you STILL weren't done until you'd nursed on both sides.  i kept thinking you couldn't possibly fit anymore into that little belly, but you managed it.  the only time you really get fussy is when you're hungry and the food isn't as immediate as you'd like it to be.  haha.  you also sometimes get cranky when you're going to the bathroom, but that's mostly just hilarious.

this weekend, your paternal grandfather will be in town to visit you, so you will get to meet him.  daddy is supposed to make some salmon, which is my favorite and hopefully one of yours too (i certainly ate it quite a bit while i was pregnant for you!).  we will hopefully also take a couple of outings to work on christmas shopping as i have gotten you a couple of little things, but those are the only gifts i've bought....woops.  i just can't believe how fast time is flying with you - it's hard to keep up!

  1. Love the outfit! She is adorable! It looks like her face is starting to chunk up too! I am curious what Amelia's reaction will be to Santa. I have a feeling she won't be too fond of him :) The fact that she is at the stage where she sometimes cries when Matt takes her--it doesn't look promising!
